Document Management Product - A `Natural Extension' of j2 Global's Offerings - Helps j2 Global Customers Manage and Disseminate Digital Files
j2 Global Communications, Inc. , the outsourced, value-added messaging and communications company, today announced a software patch upgrade that enables PaperMaster(R) 98, j2 Global's document management software offering, to be fully compatible with Microsoft(R) Windows(R) 2000, Windows XP and Windows Me operating systems. PaperMaster 2002 is an upgrade for existing licensed users of PaperMaster 98 who have migrated or are planning to migrate to a newer Windows operating system.
Based on the popularity of the PaperMaster upgrade during beta testing, j2 Global now plans to develop a stand-alone version of PaperMaster for subscribers of its service offerings. The product is scheduled for release in 2003.
"The upgraded version of PaperMaster is another step forward along our product roadmap," said Hemi Zucker, chief marketing officer of j2 Global. "Based on the enthusiastic response from our beta test participants, we are aggressively working to develop a new version of PaperMaster that will be available to new users, as well as to our current subscriber base and owners of older versions of PaperMaster. PaperMaster is a natural extension of j2 Global's messaging solution and is part of our strategy to provide useful, low-cost, unified communications services to enterprises and individuals worldwide."
PaperMaster is a PC application that supplements j2 Global's Internet faxing and voicemail services. Since j2 Global subscribers receive faxes and voicemails as email attachments, PaperMaster is an ideal solution for managing these messages, as well as other desktop files. PaperMaster automates the process of organizing, indexing, archiving and retrieving digital files, enabling subscribers to:
-- Scan and file paperwork as digital media -- Organize documents, faxes, email, voicemail and other digital files -- Find, fax, copy, email, edit and annotate files
The upgrade patch for current PaperMaster 98 users is available for sale immediately at http://www.papermaster.net/. Subscribers who purchase the upgrade on or before December 15, 2002, are eligible for a $50 discount off the regular price of $149.
