Vic: Police offer reward for two year old unsolved murder

Police have offered a $50,000 reward to help solve the brutal murder of an elderly
immigrant couple two years ago.

GAETANO (PRON: Guy-TAH-no) and MARIA RUSSO, both in their 70s, were found by their
son bashed to death in their Altona North home, on the south-western outskirts of Melbourne,
on April 19, 1998.

Homicide Squad Detective Inspector BRIAN RIX says the attack was not a random one and
nothing appeared to have been stolen from the house.

A murder weapon was never recovered.
